Safeguarding
The Crew Club’s highest priority is the safeguarding of children and adults at risk.
We want everyone who comes into contact with us to:
Be aware of our legal responsibilities
Understand the safeguarding risks in children and vulnerable adults
Know what to do if they have a concern about the wellbeing or welfare of any child or adult at risk that comes into contact with us
Our safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:
Protecting children from maltreatment
Preventing impairment of children’s health or development
Ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with provision of safe and effective care.
Talking action to enable all children to have the best life chances
Our safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults is defined as:
Protecting an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect
Working together to prevent and stop both the risks and experience of abuse or neglect
Promoting the wellbeing of adults
Ensuring adults can communicate their views, wishes and feelings on issues that affect them
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility
