Safeguarding

The Crew Club’s highest priority is the safeguarding of children and adults at risk.

We want everyone who comes into contact with us to:

  • Be aware of our legal responsibilities

  • Understand the safeguarding risks in children and vulnerable adults

  • Know what to do if they have a concern about the wellbeing or welfare of any child or adult at risk that comes into contact with us

Our safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as:

  • Protecting children from maltreatment

  • Preventing impairment of children’s health or development

  • Ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with provision of safe and effective care.

  • Talking action to enable all children to have the best life chances

Our safeguarding and promoting the welfare of adults is defined as:

  • Protecting an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect

  • Working together to prevent and stop both the risks and experience of abuse or neglect

  • Promoting the wellbeing of adults

  • Ensuring adults can communicate their views, wishes and feelings on issues that affect them

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility
